A.T.A. Day in New York City

On April 7th, 2026 Mayor Mamdani of the City of New York officially proclaimed April 7th to be the American Theatre of Actors Day to mark the 50th anniversary of A.T.A.

The American Theatre of Actors is extremely honored and thankful to Mayor Mamdani for such a treasured recognition.

Location: Celebrated at the historic Penn Club in Manhattan, New York City.

Significance: Recognized five decades of supporting indie theater, new playwrights, and independent artists.

Key Honorees:

  • Lyle Kessler: Legendary playwright of Orphans received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • Len Cariou: Tony-winning icon and Theatre Hall of Fame inductee received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
