A spilled cup of coffee. A pear tree a father won’t shake. A letter that arrives a century too late.
Anywhere, Everywhere…Us is an evening about racism and the lingering effects of slavery in America, and what it would take to repair the harm they’ve caused. It weaves acts from HoneyVic’s full-length plays (Accelerating Change, Amen Amen 2 and Angerpotchket) with the one-act The Reckoning.
Guided by Freeman, a narrator who speaks straight to the audience, the stories move from slavery to Tulsa’s Black Wall Street to a 1990s youth movement. Families, strangers and descendants on both sides of history argue, apologize and refuse to keep waiting.
