Synopsis: Admetus, a Greek king, was marked for death by the god Apollo. But, if he could find someone to die in his place, he would be spared. He tried to find a replacement but everyone refused, except his loving and faithful wife, Alcestis.The situation is ultimately rectified with the aid of the famous Greek hero, Heracles.
